Planted in 1865 it is a small dry grown gnarly old vineyard producing tiny quantities of intensely flavoured fruit. Hand harvested these gems are then given tender loving care in the winery. An exhilarating expression of the very best Barossa Shiraz can be and truly a world class wine
Tasting note
Rich and opulent, the wine shows dark fruit intensity, mocha, cake spice, cedar and potpourri aromas on the nose, followed by a sumptuous palate delivering terrific weight and succulent fruit flavours. Beautifully framed by loads of silky tannins, finishing impressively long and velvety. At its best: now to 2031.
